The Japanese (canon) version of the game identifies her as being female while the English version portrays her as being a male character.

Story[]

The Master is the highly psychic leader of a criminal organization known as the Secret Society, who were the real powers behind the worldwide multinational megaconglomorate, the Gerard Foundation. She had many bodyguards, the most notable ones being the "Divine Four" Executives of the Gerard Foundation and the Secret Society, being Chaos, Cupido, Gaia and Uranus, all who were able to prove their worth in not just business acumen and being able to sense humanity's next wants, but displaying intense fighting prowess and the drive to enforce their wills through the Toshindaibukai.

Through her psychic powers, she practically controlled the world through the economy and the flow of world resources, being able to actively make high stake investitures and estimations to counter any new turn the governments and labor organizations of the world would make. Though most of the Secret Society did not mind the windfalls of wealth and financial returns Master's agenda brought them, one was thoroughly concerned with the Master's utter callousness to the aftermaths brought upon the world with her actions: the executive, Gaia. Knowing that Master's vices corrupted her beyond saving and turned her far from the pursuit of ensuring "the establishment of the ideal state" to counter "those who the world must be protected against", becoming a tyrannical evil possibly just as; if not greater than their enemies hidden from the everyday world, Gaia deep down knew that he had to put down Master once and for all.

When Gaia had illegally held the first Toshindaibukai in order to gather other fighters to start a rebellion against the increased corruption of the organization, Uranus had marked him for death. When the Master was informed of this, a second Toshinden tournament was held in order to draw Gaia out into the open and into their trap. However, both the Master and Uranus were slain themselves at the end of the tournament by Sho Shinjo.

Battle Arena Toshinden 3[]

Abel, the leader of The Organization, had long sought the Master, seeing her as the ideal vessel for the coming of Agon Teos. As the Secret Society's coffers were taken over by the Organization and left the Gerard Foundation in disarray upon the disappearance and death of their CEOs, Abel and his forces could not locate Master or Uranus, unaware that they had been slain by Sho Shinjo. Hearing that the Toshinden warriors of the recent Toshindaibukai are perfect for sacrificing them to the forsaken rites of the "Legend of the Fighting God" by Vermilion, and that the new potential vessel, the "purest one", David, escaped and proved his strength by killing most of his captors, Abel instead turns his sights upon David and the Toshinden warriors.
